A matching set of 240 series Jennings pattern augers by Willam Ridgway of Sheffield. 4 to 16 (¼" - 1") by sixteenths, all in very serviceable condition with good cutting lips screws and spurs.
Established in 1878 and based first in Rockingham Street and later Edward Street, Wm Ridgway became one of Sheffield’s most prolific manufacturers of wood boring tools. Thanks to their excellent natural stability, Jennings pattern auger bits tend to be the preferred choice of furniture makers.
