Gyokucho razorsaws, the original replaceable blade Japanese saws, have long been renowned for their cutting efficiency and excellent durability. The latest generation of Gyokucho saws have blue handles made from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) a remarkable material that is simultaneously hard and resilient yet feels velvety to the touch and affords a superb grip.
Gyokucho 400 TPE Proton Power Saw Ibarame Kataba 240mm
The Gyokucho 400 Ibarame Kataba has quite a stiff blade and 13 crosscut teeth per inch. This reasonably aggressive saw is excellent for crosscutting timber to length, making square or angled cuts for larger scale joinery and is also a great choice for zipping through panels in solid timber, sheet goods, veneered ply and composites.
It leaves a smooth surface and almost no breakout on the exit side. The stubby spine provides a little extra support for the blade whilst still allowing deep cuts to be made.

Gyokucho 374 TPE Professional Deep Blade Dozuki Saw 240mm
The Gyokucho 374 is a professional crosscut dozuki, an accurate saw with a very thin plate and a full length spine used for similar tasks to a western carcase saw; trimming components to final length, defining the shoulders of half laps and housings etc. Identical to the 373 in all respects apart from the depth of the plate, giving this saw slightly more depth of cut, possibly at the expense of a little nimbleness.

Gyokucho 667 TPE Blue Hard Ryoba Komame 240mm
Bluehard blades are designed for precise and careful work, they have a slightly shallower angle on the toothline making them less aggressive than a standard ryoba and the sawplate is heat treated to be a little stiffer. This version has extra fine 'Komame' teeth, making it suitable for smaller workpieces - skirting, architrave, joinery, furniture making etc.

Gyokucho 1151 Double Edged Flush Cutting Saw 125mm
Flush cutting saws are delicate precision tools used to trim plugs, dowels, wooden nails and through tenons flush with the surrounding surface.
The crosscut teeth of this saw have absolutely no set, so they do not scratch the surface. The blade is only 0.3mm thick and extremely flexible, light pressure with the index finger of your other hand is all that is required to hold the blade down onto the workpiece and achieve a truly flush cut.
