Bevels & Centre Finders
Bevels, centre finders and dovetail markers let you record, store and transfer angles accurately, whether you're copying a shape from a drawing onto a workpiece or matching an angle from one component to another.
A sliding bevel is set once against a reference, whether that's a drawing, an existing joint or another workpiece, and then locked in place to hold that exact angle until you're ready to mark it out elsewhere. They come in T, Y and L shaped bodies, each suited to slightly different working positions, so you can choose whichever sits most naturally in your hand for the job. Dovetail markers take the guesswork out of laying out consistent dovetail angles. Centre finders serve a related purpose, helping you quickly and accurately locate the centre point on round or square stock.
Mitre squares handle the fixed 45 and 90 degree angles that come up constantly in joinery, and Shinwa's profile gauges and compact levels round out the range for tracing irregular shapes and checking work is true.
