Kyogi is a traditional Japanese paper made by slicing Akamatsu pine into very thin sheets.
Many Japanese people fondly recall kyogi being used for wrapping food, the natural antimicrobial properties of the wood make it excellent for preservation as well as presentation.
It is also used like paper for printing or calligraphy, or as a craft material, when soaked in hot water the lignin softens and the sheets can be carefully shaped around a form.
Natural, biodegradable, made without water or bleach.
