- 6" Try Square
• Rosewood Pull Slide Combination Marking and Mortice Gauge Plain Head '9C'
Made by Joseph Marples in Sheffield this classic British pull slide combination marking and mortice gauge has a single pin on one side and two pins on the other (one fixed, one adjustable).
The dual pins are used for marking a mortice that is to be drilled and pared - chiselled mortices are cut from a single gauge line as the width of the chisel determines the width of both mortice and tenon. The screw on the head clamps onto the stem through the pull slide, locking both in place simultaneously.
- Stem Dimension: 190mm(l) x 18mm(w) x 16mm(d)
- Head Dimension: 65mm(l) x 56mm(w) x 28mm(d)
• Rosewood 9" Sliding Bevel
Rosewood with solid brass fittings with a blued steel blade. It is easier to get a really firm setting with a screwdriver, you don't need to give it the white knuckle death grip, but something just a little stronger than finger tight. And because the screw is flush with the surface you can use it any way around without having to think about it.
• Rosewood 6" Try Square '19A'
Handmade in Sheffield by Joseph Marples, this beautifully made brass bound rosewood 6" try square has a hot blued steel blade secured with three brass washers and steel rivets.
Each square is tested for accuracy on both the inside and outside faces during manufacture and again before despatch to us. Marples own specification for the internal angle is twice that specified in the British Standard i.e.; better than 0.01mm/10mm blade length and with the solid brass edges - accuracy is ensured and it conforms with British Standard 3322 specification for carpenters' squares and bevels.
- Inside blade length 6"
- Overall length 7½"
- Stock length 5"
Price if purchased individually: £66.90
