Matthias Fenner works as an artificer (one man factory) producing small batches of beautifully crafted layout tools at his spotless workshop in the rural Wendland of Lower Saxony.  He began as a professional woodturner in 2016 then gradually added metalworking capabilities like grinding and heat treatment to his portfolio. 

Each tool embodies a machinist's meticulous attention to detail, a craftsman's obsession with superb surface finishes, and an artists eye for fair curves and flowing lines.  There are cheaper tools that fulfil the same function by all means, but the difference is in how they make you feel every time you hold them - valued, appreciated, and inspired to do your best work.
