Handmade steel from the Black Country tends to have very high wear resistance and excellent edge taking properties, its very good stuff indeed but a right pain to grind or polish. This lovely set of older Jennings bits by Whitehouse are in nice condition overall with the exception of the ⅝" which is a fine example of how to squeeze the last out of an auger, so we've included a younger bit by the same maker as well.
4 to 8 by sixteenths, then 10 to 20 by eighths.
Founded in 1869 Cornelius Whitehouse & Sons of Walsall Rd, Cannock employed over 300 people at the peak of its operations.
Supplied in a new British made auger roll with a new auger bit file.
