Woodworking Workbenches - Terms, Delivery & Returns

Important - Please Read Before Ordering

These woodworking benches are heavy, professional workshop products supplied directly from our manufacturing partner in the Czech Republic.

They are manufactured and configured to order. Please read this page carefully before placing your order as it contains important information about delivery, access, cancellations and returns.


Product Status - Made to Order

Our workbenches are manufactured/configured to order based on the options you select at checkout.

These benches are not mass-stocked items and production begins shortly after order confirmation.

Although configurable, they are not fully bespoke or personalised products. Your statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 therefore still apply (see below), subject to lawful deductions where production has begun.


Delivery Area

Delivery is available to mainland United Kingdom addresses only.

Deliveries to Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland or remote postcodes may be subject to additional charges. Please contact us prior to ordering if you are unsure.


Lead Times & Dispatch

All benches are manufactured to order in the Czech Republic.

Delivery is typically 5-6 weeks from order confirmation. By placing your order, you agree to this delivery timeframe.

Timescales are estimates only and not guaranteed, but we will keep you informed throughout the process.

You will receive confirmation once your bench has been dispatched.


Delivery Method - Kerbside Only

Due to their size and weight, workbenches are delivered via pallet or specialist heavy goods carrier.

Delivery is kerbside only unless otherwise agreed in writing.

This means:

  • The driver will deliver to the nearest safe access point at your property.
  • The driver is not required to move the bench inside your premises.
  • You are responsible for arranging sufficient assistance to move the bench safely.

Failed delivery due to restricted access, unsuitable driveway conditions, or absence may result in additional delivery or storage charges.


Access & Suitability Responsibility

Before ordering, you must ensure:

  • Doorways, hallways and access routes are wide enough.
  • Floors are capable of supporting the weight of the bench.
  • You have sufficient assistance and suitable equipment to move the bench safely.
  • There is suitable vehicle access for a large delivery vehicle.

We are not responsible for any additional costs arising if a bench cannot be moved into your property due to access restrictions that were not disclosed to us prior to dispatch.


Inspection on Delivery

You must inspect the goods upon delivery.

If the packaging is visibly damaged, please:

  • Note the damage on the delivery paperwork, or
  • Refuse delivery and contact us immediately.

Any visible damage must be reported to us within 48 hours with photographs.

Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to the agreed delivery location and come into your physical possession in accordance with section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.


Prices, VAT & Import Formalities

All prices shown include UK VAT.

We are responsible for import formalities unless otherwise stated.


Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods.

You may also cancel your order at any time before delivery.

Because these benches are manufactured and configured to order, production may begin shortly after we accept your order. Cancelling your order will not affect your statutory right to cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period.

If you cancel:

  • Before dispatch: we will refund all payments received from you.

  • After delivery: you must return the goods in accordance with the Returns section below.

If you cancel within 14 days after delivery, we will refund the price paid, subject to:

  • A deduction for any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods (as permitted by Regulation 34(9) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013); any such deduction will reflect the estimated reduction in resale value of the goods.

  • The return carriage provisions set out in the Returns section.

Refunds will be processed in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing at support@workshopheaven.com.


Returns – Important Information for Heavy Goods

These benches are extremely heavy specialist workshop products.

If you cancel within 14 days after delivery:

  • You are responsible for arranging and paying for return carriage.
  • Return shipping costs are likely to be significant due to weight and pallet transport requirements.

We strongly recommend carefully reviewing specifications, dimensions and access before ordering.

We may make deductions from any refund for loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

You will be responsible for the goods until they are received back by us.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or evidence that they have been returned.


Condition of Returned Benches

You may inspect the bench to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, as you would in a workshop or showroom environment.

If the bench has been assembled, used beyond reasonable inspection, modified or damaged after delivery, we may make a deduction from your refund to reflect any diminished value.

This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.


Faulty, Damaged or Not as Described

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

If your bench is faulty, damaged (other than transit damage reported late), or not as described:

  • You must notify us within 30 days to exercise your short-term right to reject.
  • After 30 days, you may be entitled to repair or replacement.

We may request photographic evidence.

If a fault is confirmed, we will arrange collection at our cost.


Undeliverable or Refused Deliveries

If delivery fails because:

  • The address provided was incorrect
  • Access is unsuitable
  • You were unavailable
  • Delivery is refused for reasons other than damage or fault

We reserve the right to deduct any additional courier, storage or return costs from your refund.


Limitation of Liability – Use of Workbenches

Woodworking is inherently hazardous.

It is your responsibility to ensure safe installation, positioning and use of the bench.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Workshop Heaven shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from misuse, improper installation or unsafe working practices.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded under UK law.
