Made by a small family firm in Birmingham England, these beautiful mallets are turned from select billets of fine timbers, in this case English elm from the Cotswolds and beautifully figured boxwood from the Chiltern hills. Both timbers will darken over time, developing a rich patina.
The smooth boxwood handle fills the hand beautifully, giving a wonderful sense of comfort and control. The balance is spot on for light to medium blows, perfect for carving or cabinetmaking.
The handle is secured in the traditional manner by a full length wedged through tenon.
