A professional quality JIS Grade 1 hardened stainless steel rule with hard chrome plated finish and etched graduations, metric on one side, imperial on the other.
Metric side has half mm on the top, whole mm on the bottom, with large easy reading numbers common to both scales up the middle.
The imperial side uses 'aircraft quick-reading' scales for clarity, it has decimal inches at the top for those who think in thou, and 16ths and 32nds for the fractionalists.
Shinwa stainless steel machine rules are manufactured to Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B7516 grade 1 which governs material specification and heat treatment as well as accuracy, they are regularly inspected by assessors from an independent quality assurance company approved by the Japanese government.
