Boiled Linseed Oil is a rich, fast drying and colour enhancing penetrating protective and restorative surface coating. It contains a high percentage of linolenic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, which polymerizes when it comes into contact with oxygen. This polymerization process is what causes the oil to harden and form a protective coating.
It dries to a matt finish, with repeat applications creating an increasingly glossy sheen finish should this be required.
Ensure all surfaces are clean and completely dry prior to application - preferably using a cloth soaked in white spirit.
Apply liberally with either brush, lint free cloth or smooth sponge block and remove any excess to ensure a thin even layer is applied and repeat as necessary or until complete saturation has been achieved. Depending on conditions, allow 8 -24 hours drying between coats.
NOT food safe.
Clean brushes with white spirit or brush cleaner.
As with many other oils there is a spontaneous combustion hazard so never allow used rags to be crumpled in a ball and disposed in a waste bin.
