Every Mujingfang plane is crafted by hand from a single piece of carefully selected air dried timber. The surfaces are shaped by hand and finished with scrapers to expose the natural sheen of the wood.
Taiwanese planes are similar in design and function to Japanese kanna, they have a separate cap iron that is sprung against a cross pin and can be used on either the push or pull stroke.
