Rib Fruited Mallee or Corrugata is one of the more common Australian goldfield burr varieties, which is handy because it is also one of the most beautiful.
The combination of pale toffee swirling through medium reds and flecked with medium browns dominates the figure, but is punctuated with little 'cats paw' clusters of knots, a very attractive timber.
Mallee trees typically have multiple stems and don't grow too big, so large mallee burrs are uncommon.
