FAMAG 1775 Countersink is a seven-edged countersink with a 90° point angle, built to solve the chatter problem that plagues softwood countersinking. The irregular pitch of the cutting edges breaks up vibration as the tool bites, so you get a clean, even sink rather than a juddering, torn one.
Good to reach for when:
- Countersinking screw heads in softwood, where standard countersinks tend to chatter and leave a rough edge
- Working with a hand drill rather than a pillar drill, since the irregular pitch keeps cutting smooth even without the steadiness of a fixed setup
- Finishing veneered or laminated panels, where a clean edge matters and tear-out isn't an option
- Countersinking in hardwood or general timber, for a tool that copes with a range of density without changing technique
Fully CNC ground from alloyed tool steel with a parallel shank, so it runs true and holds its edge over repeated use.
