Named after a Buddhist monk, the daruma genno is a shorter and fatter hammer with much larger striking faces. This has the effect that you are less likely to miss and can therefore spare more concentration for what the other end of the chisel or carving tool is doing. A popular choice for general chiselling and particularly good choice for sculpture work where the hammer is used at different and constantly changing angles. For this tool we have gone for a 450g / 16oz head which provides a touch more mass.
