Gyokucho TRONC set of Kataba, Ryoba and Dozuki 180mm compact saws with wooden handles.
The Gyokucho TRONC 180 series of saws are designed for professional craftspeople making small high quality work; jewellery boxes, clocks, musical instruments, furniture maquettes etc. The handles are turned from hard maple and cherry, finished off with a bronzed retaining screw and a hole in the end to hang them on a nail, with time and use and the occasional drop of oil or finishing wax, they will just look better and better.
The Atsuba Kataba offers a faster, deeper cutting option ideal for stock preparation including cutting sheet materials (solid timber, ply, laminates etc). Hijirime teeth (differentially set) as found on some of Gyokucho's larger saws deliver a clean almost frictionless cutting action and extended service life, with careful use a single blade can give many years of service. The rounded tip allows cuts to be started in the middle of a board or panel.
Replacement blade: S293
The Ryoba is a versatile joinery saw with dedicated rip and crosscut teeth on either edge of the sawplate. The graduated pitch rip teeth give the saw a smoother start and very efficient waste removal resulting in a clean straight cut. All Gyokucho saw blades are nickel plated to resist rust and help to shrug off sticky resin and glue.
Replacement blade: S291
The Usuba Dozuki is ideal for precise cuts and fine joinery in thin material. The rounded tip may seem to be of limited utility on a saw with a spine, but for other jobs like cutting veneers, or slitting around damage in repair work it is incredibly useful.
