Premium quality synthetic 6000 grit (fine) Japanese Waterstone.
6000 grit stones are usually the final stage of polishing for routine sharpening. There is benefit to be had by going finer but the additional benefit diminishes the further you go. 6000 grit and finer stones need to be used with a Nagura stone to build up a sharpening paste on the surface and prevent the surface from glazing, they don't need pre-soaking just a light spray of water as required.
