3M PSA Microfinishing Film - Precision Abrasives for Sharpening & Surface Finishing

Microfinishing film is a heavier-duty step up from Lapping film, with a thicker polyester backing and harder bonding resin for increased durability and cutting efficiency. Micron-graded particles are electrostatically oriented for maximum cutting efficiency and bonded in a slow-wearing resin layer for long service life. Available in two abrasives - choose the right one for your work:

• Aluminium Oxide (AO) - consistent, sustained performance; ideal for sharpening plane irons, chisels and blades
• Silicon Carbide (SiC) - aggressive initial cut that refines as it beds in; preferred for precision lapping wood

PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) Backing for a Secure, No-Slip Grip

Simply peel the liner and press onto any flat plate or glass surface. The industrial-grade adhesive holds fast during use, then releases cleanly with a few drops of orange oil without tearing or leaving residue.
