A Douk Douk is what it is. Does what it does (NOT for the removal of noses…a la baraka) Never fails as it has so few components to fail. I’ve had many. Most used for slicing tough woody tobaccos. Most lost in various places around the world whilst preparing and smoking said tobaccos. This examples blade was very far off centre. Rearing against a scale. Scales easily bent back to where they should be. After finessing an edge appropriate to your task, a simple strop every morning along with your cutthroat will keep the little thing singing..

I bought one of these from Workshop Heaven a few years ago and I've used it pretty much everyday since as I'm a gardener and a woodworker, so it gets a lot of use and now bears the patina of age! In terms of its utility, you can't beat it. The blade holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen. After years of use the simple spring mechanism is as good as it ever was. In terms of utility, it's superb because its slim profile makes it easy to slip into a pocket without filling it or being uncomfortable. Mine is attached to my front door key and a carabina so that the two things I need constantly are always together and I can hang them up if I need to. The patterning on the blade wore away after a while, but it now has a pattern all of its own, through use. The shaman on the handle will always remain though as it's embossed into the metal. It has become an old friend that I now find indispensable. I have bought them for my sons too and hope they will get a lifetime of use from them. Highly recommended.
