With the FAMAG 2108.507 Depth Collar Set you can stop drilling too deep by eye. Each collar slides over your drill bit and locks at the exact depth you need, giving you a consistent, repeatable stop across every hole in a job.
This set covers seven common bit sizes, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm, supplied in a plastic tube for storage between jobs.
Good to reach for when:
- Drilling a run of identical holes, such as shelf pin holes or hinge pilot holes, where every hole needs to stop at the same depth
- Preventing bits from punching through thin panels or veneered stock
- Working freehand without a drill press, where a fixed depth stop does the job a pillar drill's built-in stop would otherwise handle
- Repeat production work, where resetting depth by eye for every hole would slow you down and introduce error
Worth noting: when using the 3mm or 4mm collars, run the drill a little slower than you would for that bit alone, since the added weight and grip point change how it cuts.
Fixing the adjusting rings requires Allen keys in sizes 0.7mm, 0.9mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and 3.0mm, not supplied.
