Drawknives
Drawknives are a traditional two handed tool used to shave strips of wood quickly and cleanly from timber that needs to be securely held while you work.
There can be few tools more evocative of the bodger's skill than the drawknife, taking a piece from hewn or riven blank to an almost finished component with one simple yet remarkably versatile tool. Traditionally used together with a shave horse, drawknives come in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs to suit differently sized workpieces, from fine spoon and bowl work through to larger chair and furniture components.
