The Iwasaki Carving File Curved Half Round Fine 100mm shapes subtle hollows and curves that a straight file simply can't reach. Its curved profile is suited to carving the gentle depressions of muscle structure in life carving, or shaping a comfortable thumb rest where a piece is meant to be held.
Unlike a conventional file, the teeth are chemically etched rather than cut, giving a consistent, even sharpness along the full length of the blade. This lets the file cut cleanly on the pull stroke with very little pressure, producing fine curls rather than dust and leaving a smooth surface that needs only light finishing.
