Handmade saws from Hishika bring the most refined Japanese hand sawing experience available, with fully hardened blades ground and set by hand for exceptional precision.
These saws are built differently to replaceable blade saws. The sawplates are fully hardened, so they hold an edge and cut with real precision, but they flex less and, if misused, shatter rather than kink. For that reason they suit a confident, experienced user working in a calm, methodical way, rather than someone new to Japanese saws. If you're still building that experience, it's worth starting on a saw with a cheaper replaceable blade and moving up to a handmade one once you're ready.
Dozuki saws: for fine dovetailing and hardwood joinery
Kataba and Unisaw: single edged saws for general crosscut and rip work
Ryoba saws: double edged, for both rip and crosscut in hardwood
Flush cutting saws: for trimming pegs, dowels and joinery flush to the surface
Replacement blades and sets: available for most patterns, plus multi-saw sets for building a complete kit

If you are a confident and experienced user of Japanese handsaws and work in a calm, relaxed, methodical way, these precision instruments will give you the most refined hand sawing experience possible.
The sawplates of Hishika handcrafted saws are fully hardened and therefore only recommended for those who already have some experience with using Japanese saws. The blades will flex but not to the same extent as a replaceable blade saw, and rather than kinking when mis-used they will shatter (wear safety glasses).
Better therefore to learn on a saw that has cheaper replaceable blades and progress to a handmade one when you feel ready.
