Digital calipers are one of those workshop tools that quietly become indispensable. Precise measurement opens up a surprising range of tasks that a tape measure or rule simply can't handle. The K-MET Absolute Zero Digital caliper is a serious precision instrument. You would need to spend nearly as much again before you reached this standard with any other brand.
The jaws slide incredibly smoothly, tracked continuously and instantaneously by the display with no 'blank screen moments'.
The display can be zeroed at any position and that stetting will be stored even if the display is switched off.
A good pair of digital calipers will also switch instantly between metric and imperial, which is more useful in a woodworking context than it might sound, particularly when working from older plans or mixed hardware specifications.
- Capacity: 0-6" / 0-150mm
- Display resolution: 0.0005" / 0.01mm (half thou inches / hundredths of mm)
- Measuring accuracy inches: ± 0.001" < 4", ± 0.0015" at 4"-6".
- Measuring accuracy mm: ± 0.02 < 100mm, ± 0.04 at 100-150mm
Please note: Accuracy and resolution are very different things, this can easily lead to misunderstandings.
The 'resolution' or 'display accuracy' describes the liquid crystal display and tells you nothing about the measuring accuracy of the tool itself. Measuring accuracy should always be stated separately.
The battery is supplied separately, so you know it's fresh.
Supplied in a foam lined protective case.
Conforms to DIN 862
