Our handle materials section brings together small pieces of native and exotic wood suited to knife handles, scales and other fine work where a single, well-chosen piece of timber makes all the difference. Species and figure vary as stock is added, so browsing here is as much about discovering something unusual as it is about sourcing a specific timber.

Every piece is photographed individually rather than sold from a generic stock image. This means you can see the actual grain, colour and figure of the piece you are buying, and choose material to suit a particular design, whether that is a striking burr for a show knife or a plainer, more stable timber for a working handle.
