Liogier riffler rasps are a carver's dream; light and delicate and wonderfully fine with densely stitched teeth for a superior finish.
The No.8 has a brush (slightly radiussed on both faces and curved) on one end; excellent for working the insides of closed loops - the insides of the legs of a carved animal for example. The other end is a curved cylinder with a rounded end for creating shallow grooves - perhaps to define the tendon on the back of an ankle.
