The classic square rasp, parallel for two thirds of its length and gently tapered for the last third toward the tip.
Predominantly used for turning round holes into square ones (or arched ones as you would find on a wooden plough plane) or elongating rectangular slots, or sculpting pierced workpieces like chair back splats. The square rasp is a straightforward tool to use and does it's job extremely well.
