Stabilised Turkish Walnut Pen Blanks

The London gun trade is best known for three makers: James Purdey & Sons, Holland & Holland and Boss & Co. all of whom will handmake a best quality shotgun or rifle to fit your body and requirements, starting with a blank of your choice from their library of beautifully air dried Turkish walnut. 

But what happens to the wood that used to be around those gunstock blanks?  Some of the secondary cuts end up here at Workshop Heaven, prepared into gorgeous quality blanks for knifemakers and pen turners.

We have them professionally stabilised which increases strength, minimises creative risk and ensures they can be brought to a high gloss finish with abrasives alone, 3M polishing papers work beautifully on stabilised material.
