Double Edge Kyusakichi Nata Sickle
Ideal for harvesting lavender, grasses, tidying up shrubs at the end of the season, the sickle is also wonderful for cutting tall weeds and working around trees or fences.
Forged with a thick strong back and thin edge, the laminated blade has a core layer of very hard high carbon steel that forms the cutting edge. The curved shape pulls stems together slightly as it slices through them, a very clever and effective tool.
Use the back of the blade as a guide to establish your angle while sharpening, lifting slightly until you make contact all the way out to the edge, then flip the blade over and give it a couple of strokes on the back to remove the wire edge
