Nejirikama or twisted weeding sickles are one of Yoshida Hamono's best selling products, perhaps best described as a garden razor, they are pulled across the soil surface, cutting off the weeds at ground level. The combination of a sharp edge and a sharp point means you can cover broad areas and prick out individual more established weeds all with one tool. Having the neck on one side makes it easy to reach behind plants as well as in front and to the sides: fewer body movements = less fatigue.
This one is specifically forged for left handed users, a complete mirror image right from the beginning where the blacksmith hammer welds the high carbon steel onto the other face of the blank. A thoughtful and useful gift for a left handed gardener.
