The cultivating hoe or 'azada' has been the tool of choice for non-mechanised farmers the world over for hundreds of years.

This lightweight version is designed for garden use rather than farming, it is a wonderfully versatile tool for cultivating, managing and shaping soil, cutting roots, removing weeds, harvesting veggies etc.

As with many Japanese tools, driving home the wedge to secure the head is the first job for the new owner. Just tap the butt of the handle to ensure it is seated in the eye and then tap the wedge in with a hammer. From this point forward the user is responsible for ensuring that the head is secure before use.
